The Third Global Conference on Child Labour is a moment for reflection and joint dialogue between governments, civil society and international organizations on the advances made in the process of elimination of child labor, particularly its worst forms, as well as a space for proposing mechanisms to accelerate the fight of this phenomenon.
The preparatory process of the Conference seeks to promote broad and democratic debate on the efforts undertaken by the international community since 2010 to eliminate the worst forms of child labor. It represents an opportunity to take stock of the progress made since the adoption of Convention 182 of the International Labour Organization (ILO) through exchange of experiences and also recognizing the most effective measures that will allow to achieve the goal of eradication in 2016.
